In the August 2014 issue of Avenue, I wrote the Decor story: a profile of a home in Crestwood (which is, coincidentally, the Edmonton neighbourhood I grew up in).
After snagging a property in this coveted neighbourhood during the real estate boom, the Dodd family eventually tore down the existing house (a tiny, post-war bungalow) and built anew - a process that they threw themselves into wholeheartedly. Almost every aspect of the design reflects the couple's desire to maximize the space in their home and create a very functional, practical space for their growing family.
I've just written another Decor story for the magazine, as well as several Top 40 Under 40 award winners, to be published this winter. Stay tuned!
