Good news: Honourable mention in Surrey International Writers Conference contest

On a whim, I submitted a board book I'd written during an MFA course last year (Writing for children, with Maggie deVries) to the Surrey International Writers Conference annual writing contest.

I was delighted to find out in late October that I'd received an honourable mention in the Writing for Young People category for my rhyming tale, "Busy Busy Baby." Apparently, this is the first time a board book (ie. A short picture book written for the baby and toddler crowd) has received an honourable mention in the contest.

On top of a lovely looking certificate, my story will appear in the organization's annual anthology, very soon! This will be my first inclusion in an anthology.
